It's a Job, Not a Race
In another research based project I conducted while at Otis, I teamed up with my classmates Maeve Richardson and Adel Aleali to volunteer our time at Loyola Village elementary. We conducted a short workshop/study determining whether the students showed gender or racial bias when associating with high paying or highly respected job positions. We achieved this by asking the students to draw the age, skin color and gender of what they thought a Doctor, Lawyer and Senator looks like. At the end of our workshop, we put together an art show for the participating students and their families in one of the gallery rooms at Otis. Below you can find a few pages to preview the ebook along with the full ebook showcasing the children's drawings and analysis.
